The National Gallery of Canada commissioned a short video of Slavery North Director, Dr. Charmaine A. Nelson, analyzing Prudence Heward’s painting Dark Girl (1935).

An Art Historian on Prudence Heward’s Dark Girl accompanies the exhibition Uninvited: Canadian Women Artists in the Modern Moment, on view at the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, Ontario) until August 20, 2023. This video is available in English audio with English subtitles and English audio with French subtitles.
